How to Book

Payment Options

Payment is due on the date of your visit, and can be made by cash, debit/credit card, or cheque made payable to Castle Howard Estate Limited.  Invoicing can be arranged if agreed at the time of booking.

Essential Information for Groups

Coach Driver Information: To reach Castle Howard from the A64 you are required to negotiate a Gate House. Please note that height restrictions do apply and any vehicles over 3.43m H x 2.60m W should access Castle Howard via Malton and Coneysthorpe. Brown signs will direct you from Malton town centre via Castle Howard Drive.

Access for All: A hearing loop is located in the Ticket Office. Facilities for wheelchair users, and those with restricted mobility, includes designated parking, onsite land-transport with disabled access and wheelchair loans. Wheelchairs can access to all areas of the House except for the Chapel and first floor of the Exhibition Wing. Access to the public rooms is by wheelchair lift (maximum weight of 190kg, size 1295mm x 710mm wide). In the Gardens paths and entrances are ramped for easy access. Assistance dogs are welcome.

Fountains: Operate daily from 10.30am until 4.00pm. Due to fluctuating water levels they may not be operating at all times.

Photographic Policy: Photography is permitted within the House and gardens, for personal use only.  In the House, no tripods are permitted, and we also request that you are considerate to other visitors, therefore if you can use your camera without flash it would be much appreciated.
