Join us throughout May half term for a marvelous Minibeast adventure at Skelf Island Adventure Playground. Learn all about our impressive invertebrates with daily activities, including bug hunts, mud pie making, plus you can help us to build our very own Castle Howard bug hotel.
Step into a world of elegance and romance with our enchanting Bridgerton-themed day at Castle Howard, known in a different guise as Clyvedon Castle. Be swept off your feet with melodies from the Bridgerton soundtrack performed by the Ebor Quartet and capture timeless memories with our Bridgerton-inspired photo booth.
From the striking rhododendron collection found in Ray Wood, the ornamental woodland in Castle Howard’s Grounds, to our impeccable Walled Garden, there’s so much to see and explore during May, making for a truly wonderful backdrop to your walk.
Castle Howard has been home to the Howard family for more than 300 years. Explore extraordinary architecture and beautiful interiors when you visit the House, including the Great Hall which rises 70 feet into the air.
Enjoy our new contemporary sculpture exhibition, set against the backdrop of our beautiful Gardens and landscapes, and inside the magnificent House by renowned artist Sir Tony Cragg. Viewing the sculptures is included in Admission. Children can enjoy a creative art trail around the Grounds as part of the exhibition.
Yorkshire Wildlife Trust will lead the way on spotting an array of tiny, yet mighty invertebrates at Skelf Island Adventure Playground. They'll be on hand with a whole host of fascinating facts and information for all your bug hunting questions.
