Over the next 12 months the Tapestry Drawing Room will be transformed from a ruined shell into a beautiful 18th century inspired interior. The scale of devastation left by the fire means that a huge amount of work is needed, from structural elements including wall panelling, plaster cornices, and a new fireplace, to rich furnishings appropriate for the state rooms of Castle Howard.

At the heart of this work is the set of Four Seasons tapestries, originally made for the room when the house was built, and returning for the first time in over 250 years. They are currently undergoing specialist treatment and will be unveiled when the room opens to the public in 2025.
