Visiting the House
The House is open during the main Season, from April to October, and dressed for Christmas from November to January. Bedrooms, halls and state rooms are open for visitors to enjoy, as are some of the fire-damaged rooms from a catastrophic event in 1940.
Castle Howard's friendly and knowledgeable guides are on hand to share our stories with you as you tour the house at your own pace, exploring a treasure trove of inspiring architecture and interiors, as well as world-renowned collections.
A visit in 2025 promises a grand reveal of a once-in-a-generation project, Castle Howard's 21st Century Renaissance, transforming the House interiors, including restoring the lost Tapestry Drawing Room.
