Castle Howard reports Christmas event as the most successful to date, with 30% of visitors travelling from outside of Yorkshire, and thousands of free or subsidised tickets issued to Essential Carers and other groups.

Tony Cragg’s major sculpture exhibition at Castle Howard closes on 22nd September. The internationally renowned sculptor’s landmark exhibition opened on the 3 May 2024, and has been the first major exhibition by a leading contemporary artist to be held across the house and grounds of the historic estate.

Inclusive House, Gardens and Travel tickets provide a greener, car-free, convenient and comfortable option for visitors who either don’t have their own transport or are travelling to York by train.

Castle Howard is hosting a pop-up Bettys shop in their historic Stable Courtyard this Christmas. Synonymous with Yorkshire and celebrated internationally, Bettys is known for mouthwatering confectionary, chocolates, teas and coffees and has never before created a pop-up shop.

Castle Howard have achieved an extraordinary milestone by raising an amazing £25,000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (GOSH Charity). This is the largest charitable sum raised in the North Yorkshire stately home’s recent history.

North Yorkshire stately home Castle Howard took away the Overall Tourist Business of the Year award at an event at Leeds Dock on the 4th December. The ceremony celebrated the best in the county’s tourism industry.
