One of the last traditional estate nurseries in England, Castle Howard's Tree Nursery supplies top quality trees grown from UK and estate gathered seed. With over 60 years of planting experience, our trees are grown with knowledge, skill and care.

Opening Hours

The bare root tree planting season runs from November through to the end of March. This period is the perfect time to purchase and plant your trees.

Please note, our office is closed on weekends

Our new season will start in November 2024.

Ordering & Safety Information

  • Orders must be made before arrival at the nursery so please contact our team on 01653 648646 or cwanless@castlehoward.co.uk for all enquiries.
  • Please note, our office is closed on weekends so please place orders outside of these times.
  • On arrival, please park just inside the nursery gates and call 07790778763 and our staff will show you to your order
  • Please remain in your vehicle until a member of staff arrives
  • Please note that we recommend visitors to the nursery should wear suitable footwear as the area can be uneven and muddy
  • Please note you may be asked to disinfect footwear upon arrival as part of our biosecurity measures
  • Please be mindful of other moving vehicles and follow all safety signs
  • Children must be supervised at all times
