Castle Howard takes home Overall Tourist Business of the Year accolade at the Yorkshire Post Tourism Awards

Castle Howard received the final award of the night, judged by a panel of expert judges including owner of Mr B Hospitality Philip Bolson, Managing Director of Willow Business Support Susie Brindley, chef Steph Moon and Managing director of Cedar Court Hotels Group Wayne Topley. The awards were open to all attractions and businesses in Yorkshire.

Virgin Radio host Rich Williams who compered the evening, announced: “This award has been given to a business which has shown a real commitment to the sector and is an inspiration to others. This establishment consistently strives to optimise its facilities and revitalise its offerings with its breathtaking setting and rich historical allure. This venue places a strong emphasis on quality, community support, continuous improvement and a forward-looking approach.”

Abbigail Ollive, Director of Marketing and Visitors at Castle Howard, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to have won Overall Tourist Business of the Year at last night’s beautiful event. We were honoured to be amongst so many incredible businesses and organisations celebrating the best of the Yorkshire tourism sector. Our success is down to the amazing teamwork of our staff and volunteers who work so hard to provide memorable experiences for our Members and visitors. We’re looking forward to an exciting 2024 season.”

Castle Howard’s event Christmas in Neverland runs until 7th January. Castle Howard’s Gardens are open daily, with the House reopening in March 2024. The stately home recently announced a major sculpture show presenting works by internationally renowned artist Sir Tony Cragg, opening from 3rd May 2024.
