Join our Curators for a rare opportunity to go behind the crimson ropes, and discover some of the fascinating secrets of Castle Howard, not normally on display to the public.

This tour will take you from the very top, to the very bottom of the building. Taking in hidden views as you learn some of the many fantastic stories from Castle Howard's 300-year history. This event lasts two hours. 

Ticket includes access to the House and Gardens during the day of your visit which open from 10am. We recommend visiting the House and Gardens before your tour. 

Please note that this tour will encounter narrow staircases and heights and is unfortunately not suitable for wheelchair users. Our other tours, such as the Sculpture (Grand) Tour or Castle Howard’s 21st Century Renaissance Tour are accessible for wheelchair users.
