Yorkshire Wildlife Trust Events: Dawn Chorus Walk, Bat Walk and Fungi Foray
Yorkshire Wildlife Trust return to Castle Howard with three excellent events designed to bring you closer to nature.

4th May: Dawn Chorus, 4.30am – 7.30am

Join us at the crack of dawn on International Dawn Chorus Day to experience the magic of daybreak on the Castle Howard Estate. Hear and spot beautiful songbirds and enjoy an experience that will linger long in the memory!

6th September: Bat Walk, 7pm – 9pm

Head out with us after-hours, as dusk falls upon Castle Howard, to discover the exquisite bats that are lucky enough to call this stately home their own.
We’ll be using bat detectors to identify species through echolocation frequencies and, with our expert, you’ll discover more about their lively personalities.

5th October: Fungi Foray, 10.30am and 1.30pm

Fantastic fungi pop up everywhere in autumn! With the most beautifully descriptive names - delightful discos to jubilant jelly babies - these wonderful mushrooms will blow your mind. Join us to find out more about this mysterious kingdom.

Tickets include access to the Gardens during the day of your visit. These are outdoor walking events, please contact us in advance if you have questions about accessibility. Choose your chosen event from the calendar on the next screen.
